The winner of the #FASO Best PhD Dissertation of the Year 2025 competition is Gabin Drouard!
Gabin Drouard, currently a postdoctoral researcher in Samuli Ripatti’s group at the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM), has won the Finnish Association for the Study of Obesity’s (FASO) Best PhD Dissertation of the Year award. Gabin completed his PhD at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki, in the research group of Professor Jaakko Kaprio. The title of his dissertation is “Twin Designs and Multi-omics: A Paired Approach to Unraveling Sources of Health Variation“.
The winner of the Best PhD Dissertation competition was announced at FibroHealth 2025 in Oulu on November 19th, where Gabin presented his PhD work.

Vuoden 2025 paras väitöskirja -kilpailun voittaja on Gabin Drouard!
Gabin Drouard, joka työskentelee tällä hetkellä postdoc-tutkijana Samuli Ripatin tutkimusryhmässä Suomen molekyylilääketieteen instituutissa (FIMM), on voittanut Suomen Lihavuustutkijat ry:n (FASOn) Vuoden paras väitöskirja -palkinnon. Gabin suoritti tohtorintutkintonsa Helsingin yliopiston lääketieteellisessä tiedekunnassa professori Jaakko Kaprion tutkimusryhmässä. Hänen väitöskirjansa otsikko on “Twin Designs and Multi-omics: A Paired Approach to Unraveling Sources of Health Variation”.
Kilpailun voittaja julkistettiin FibroHealth 2025 -symposiumissa Oulussa 19. marraskuuta, ja Gabin esitteli väitöskirjansa tuloksia tässä symposiumissa.
