Veera Houttu is a postdoctoral researcher in the Nutrition and Food Research Center at the University of Turku, Finland. She completed her PhD as Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow in Amsterdam UMC at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, with particular focus in metabolism and gut microbiota, and lifestyle–cardiometabolic disease interactions. Previously, she completed her Master’s Thesis on probiotic strain and MASLD in a mice model in the University of Hongkong, Hongkong. Currently, her postdoctoral research focuses on metabolism, diet and early life health. Veera is also a registered dietitian with a passion for advancing evidence-based nutrition.
